Robotic Surgery
Robotic Ureteral Reimplant Patients can develop blockages of the ureters from scar tissue or radiation. If this happens in the distal ureter the best operation is to sew the ureter into the bladder in another location to bypass the blockage. This is referred to as a ureteral reimplant. Patients with vesicoureteral reflux can sometimes have recurrent kidney infections and may also benefit from the ureteral reimplant. This is often done through a large incision in the lower part of the abdomen. The Robotic Ureteral Reimplant allows for a precise connection to be made between the ureter and the bladder while reducing the pain and recovery time. |
